Stone the crows. Matt has been successful in getting ARC Discovery Project funding for 3 years to investigate “Shape-shifting birds: a novel response to climate change”. The project, a collaboration with Marcel Klaassen at Deakin University and long-time collaborator Glenn Tattersall at Brock University (Canada), will examine whether birds are responding to climate change by adapting their body shape, and what the fitness and population consequences are of this adaptation (or lack thereof). The project should allow at least 1 new PhD student and a post-doc to be funded. Keep your eyes peeled for announcements. Very exciting.
