Matt has been collaborating with Janet Gardner and Loeske Kruuk at ANU on a paper (to be published very shortly) which demonstrates links between climate and bill size in 33 species of honeyeater in Australia. Surprisingly we show greater links between humidity and bill size, rather than temperature – but the effect of humidity on bill size is mediated by temperature. The paper has been accepted (just proofing it at the moment) and will be published in the online journal Climate Change Responses.
